A Proper Chippy Gem!
This is our first stay at Pepperwood Pods and our first time in the area. We asked ChatGPT for the best fish and chip shop nearby, and this one came up — and it absolutely hit the spot!
We ordered fish and chips and they were amazing. The fish was cooked perfectly with a light, crispy batter that gave proper traditional chippy vibes. The chips were chunky, fresh, and full of flavour.
The portion size was really generous — we could’ve easily shared one between us — and the prices were very reasonable too.
If you’d rather sit in, there’s also a restaurant attached which looked clean and welcoming. Whether you eat in or take away, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and fancy a proper chippy tea!- Service

An immaculately presented well run traditional fish and chip shop - friendly staff and your usual offers on the menu plus a few unusual extras, such as Spam and chips, pineapple fritter and cod roe and chips. Delicious fresh fried battered cod, haddock and plaice are among the options - excellent quality and very fairly priced. Love dropping in here on way home to louth food always hot chips spot on. lovley counter staff hope young lady passes her driving test on 10/10/25 good luck. Will be in again next week lovely traditional fish and chip ship.

Stopped here in the way home from Skegness and so glad we did! All the fish and chip shops were rammed in Skegress so we set out home with the intention of picking some up where we could. Stopped here and would rate the fish and chips amongst the best I’ve ever had. Hope to see you again 👌🏼

Nice little chippy with small side eating area. Staff very pleasant. Lots of repeat custom. Fish was very fresh. Chips were excellent. Mushy peas, curry sauce etc all available. Cash, card or phone payments available.

Family meal ordered & we sat in to eat. Scampi and chips, chicken nuggets and chips, spam fritter & chips, baked potato with mushy peas and gravy. Cold drinks and coffee also. Food ordering was easy, staff came to table, service was amazing, food quality and taste were excellent! Was very clean, busy and staff all kept to highest standards with manners etc.

Being a visitor to the area, stumbled across this Chippy. Ate in, the fish and chips were incredible, hot and very fresh, staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!!

Cod and chips £8.50 And probably the best I've had in... Well I don't remember. Ever? Maybe. Crispy batter, flakey Cod. Chips were crispy and soft. Fantastic

Stopped here on the way home to Leicester after visiting family. Really tasty haddock chips and mushy peas served in the seating area by a lovely young man. All staff seemed friendly and the price was good compared to back home, especially as we ate in Thanks for the lovely food Deane and Alison

Went in here last night with my fiancé for the first time while we're stopping in Spilsby for the weekend. The service and food is amazing and we ate in the restaurant. All food cooked fresh to order so you have to wait for it which is good and the portion size was massive I struggled to eat mine and I can eat quite a lot lol. The chips were fantastic, remind me of home cooked chips rather than traditional chip shop style chips. Will definitely go back again when we're around the area again.- Service

I had jumbo battered sausage and chips. It was really nice. The batter was really tasty and crunchy and a proper crunch at that. Staff nice and friendly. So pleased I was passing through for work.

Lovely little chippy and friendly staff. It isn't open on a Sunday which is a shame sometimes if you don't want to cook (and/or are hungover 🤷🏼♀️). If anyone does read these, would love to see cheese and onion pies, or omelette meals on the menu (I don't eat meat so my choices are limited but chips, cheese and gravy never disappoints).
